The former is quite simple enough; for the latter, what you want are taller and wider windows with large glass areas. This allows more natural light to enter your home, making the kitchen brighter and appear more spacious than it really is.
2. Keep the Kitchen Clean
As much of a hassle it is to do, keeping the kitchen clean and less stuffy is a surefire way to make it more spacious. Keep in mind that this is a task that you’ll actually have to do after the remodel. After all, even the most well-organized kitchens can become cramped if they become untidy.
3. Pick Furnishings with a Smaller Footprint
Another simple way to make the kitchen appear larger is to choose furniture and furnishings with smaller footprints. These can range from narrower islands and slimmer chairs to more streamlined stools and tables. The goal here is to reduce the space these elements take up in the floor space.
Keep in mind that visual space is as important as actual space, so even furniture with chunky or wide legs can make a kitchen look cramped. Choose slim and narrow for that smaller footprint.
4. Invest in Recessed Storage
Recessed storage options are a great way to reduce the clutter in your kitchen. These can take the form of tucked pantry, shelving or cabinets flush with the wall.
